  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can diced green chilies
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Chopped green onions
  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Extra shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned. Drain excess grease and stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water; simmer for 2 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika until smooth.
  3. Combine the meat mixture with the bean mixture and stir in one cup of shredded cheese.
  4. Transfer to a baking dish or slow cooker. If baking, top with remaining cheese and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until bubbly. For slow cooking, heat on low for 2-3 hours.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions, jalapeños, or cilantro before serving.
