  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (14 oz) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the chopped onion for 3–4 minutes until soft, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper until browned.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Roll out pie crusts on a floured surface; cut into 4-inch circles.
  6. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each circle; fold over and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Brush tops with beaten egg and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
